We now have a limited number of locally mated and instrumentally inseminated (II) Queens available.
Open mated queens are grafted from our best stocks, these are rated for selective criteria. Queens are then mated with local South Warwickshire drones with our own drone mothers added into the mix. We are blessed with some quality local genetics from a mix of hardy dark local bees to imported pedigree lines. It's always exciting to see what develops over the season, with some lovely bees that often surpass expectations.
Instrumentally Inseminated (II) queens are bred from our best lines and inseminated with pedigree genetics from Swedish breeders (https://pedigree.gdeb.eu). We also produce our own drone lines from selected stocks for locally produced Queen lines. We use these in our honey production units with great results to produce the lovely local honey in Studley Warwickshire.
